Improving
Workplace Communication Skills
Research
indicates oral communication
tends to be more effective
than the written word. Understanding
personal communication patterns
and those of others, and
having the skills to relate
productively, will decrease
conflict and tension. With
an increased ability to read "silent
signals" and know when
one is sending them, participants
can understand the impact
of nonverbal messages. Listening
more effectively increases
participants' ability to
resolve conflict.
This
workshop presents organizational
concepts and theories of
interpersonal communication. Upon
completion of the workshop
participants have enhanced
interpersonal communication
skills; a clearer and more
confident self-concept; guidelines
for expressing emotions appropriately,
and techniques for resolving
and managing conflict.
